How can we help?
Answers to common questions. If you can't find what you need, email us — we're happy to help.
Where do the prayer times come from, and how accurate are they?
For locations in Norway, times are retrieved by a location identifier; elsewhere they are computed on your device using established calculation methods. Times are guidance and can vary by method and location — please verify with your local mosque or community.
Why does the app ask for my location?
Location is used to calculate accurate prayer times, point the Qibla compass, and find nearby mosques. Allowing "Always" lets the app update times in the background when you travel. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
My prayer notifications aren't arriving. What can I do?
Make sure notifications are enabled in iOS Settings → Notifications → Aziza, that Focus/Do Not Disturb isn't silencing them, and that the app has been opened at least once after installing. Notifications are scheduled to work even when the app is closed.
The Qibla compass seems off. How do I calibrate it?
Move your device in a figure-eight motion to calibrate the compass, and stay away from metal objects and magnets. The app gives a haptic tap and spoken guidance when you're aligned with the Qibla.
How do I change the app language?
Aziza follows your iOS language settings and supports English, Norwegian, and Arabic. Change it in iOS Settings → Aziza → Language, or in Settings → General → Language & Region.
What data do you collect?
Very little — the app doesn't track you or sell data, and prayer times are calculated on your device. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
