Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
This policy describes how the Aziza Prayer Times (Aziza Bønnetider) iOS app handles information. It reflects the app's actual behavior. If you have any questions, contact ibrahim@qraiqe.no.
Overview
Aziza is designed to respect your privacy. The app does not track you, does not use an advertising identifier, and does not sell your data. Prayer times are calculated on your device wherever possible, and the app keeps the data it needs on your device.
Data we do not collect
- No cross-app or cross-site tracking, and no advertising identifier (IDFA).
- No selling or renting of personal data to third parties.
- No user accounts, and no analytics profiles built about you by the app developer.
On-device processing
Prayer times outside Norway are computed on your device using established calculation methods. For locations in Norway, prayer times are retrieved by an integer location identifier — your GPS coordinates are not sent to obtain them.
Location
With your permission, the app uses your location to provide accurate prayer times, the Qibla direction, and the mosque finder, and to update prayer times in the background when your location changes significantly. Location is used to deliver these features; it is not used to build an advertising profile. You can grant or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
Camera
The camera is used only for the augmented-reality (AR) Qibla feature, to overlay the Qibla direction on the live camera view. Images from this feature are not stored or transmitted. You can grant or revoke camera access in iOS Settings.
Push notifications (OneSignal)
Prayer-time reminders and other notifications are delivered with the help of OneSignal, a push-notification service. To deliver notifications, OneSignal processes device and push-related information such as your push token, device model, and operating-system version, as described in OneSignal's own privacy documentation. See the OneSignal Privacy Policy. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications, or within the app.
Local storage and the home-screen widget
Your preferences and prayer data are stored locally on your device (in the app's local storage). Some of this data is shared with the Aziza home-screen widget through an iOS App Group so the widget can display current and upcoming prayers. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Mosque data
The mosque finder retrieves mosque listings, congregation (Jamat) times and related details from the app's backend service. These requests are made to show mosque information and are not tied to your personal identity.
Children
Aziza is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
